6 Care Closet kits distributed, well received at TDOR, courtesy of Night Hawks winter gear was included

Keeping others with Karen’s Closet for anyone needing assistance, wants to get a party to get at least a dozen made, house event maybe food/fun/community work

Thanks Traci for personal support with grief.

No news on new events or things coming up for the next month.

Encourages ears to the ground from house members to keep the body informed.

Novice Projects: 

Sister Tina Bortions has completed a Novice Project, supporting TDOR

Gathered individuals for a very popular Q&A, the panel was perfect, went off without a hitch

MoN hopes to see this continue, it was very beneficial to the community! Easy to replicate.

Malarkey expresses appreciation for both Tina and Sunny, loved the Q&A

To Guard Ian for work with the flag, missed everyone.

MoN speaks about Pastor Mark, and how TDOR is the only church event they’ll attend.

He’s amazing, definitely not pushy and very inclusive.

Malarkey feels fellowship with Pastor Mark.

MoN says he’s a friend of the Sisters, and Abbess remarks how he walks the walk and practices what he preaches.

Abbess asked what Tina learned, takeaways from the event.

Tina says they accomplished what they set out for, thinks it went really well, that you can’t make everybody happy, mentioned some tension at the end.

Couldn’t ask for a better turn out, every year TDOR gets better, speaks to parking mastery.

Malarkey wanted to add from a ministry perspective, TDOR has been a very emotionally charged setting, baggage comes to these events, spoke about giving grace and understanding.

Tensions are an opportunity for being there for the community, positively hold space and not get upset by someone who’s having a moment. Sometimes the best we can do for others is sit beside them. We can be activists, clowns, scene but it’s when we respond to people with grace it’s something the community doesn’t get much of.

Abbess confers, and reminds us to show grace all around, during moments where we can lead by example. Lead with love.

MoN asks guest Jorge for perspective on TDOR as an outside the house view;

Jorge expresses after clarifying the question, it’s been important to them over the years, so happy to see the Sisters there repeatedly, provides comfort for secular attendees and makes it holy and beautiful, a sacred space. The specialness is by the people, the flag and makes it more community centered. Feels solemn and important. Remembrance is important, and the attendance continues to grow. Feels a part of something special when they’re with SCS. About the Q&A, they really like it, appreciates the perspectives provided and the vulnerability, remarked about the parent on the panel with their child present. It added to the connection for the community.

Malarkey chiming in again, appreciates Jorge’s reply. Says to Tina that the Q&A, references the mother answering how she found out about her child’s identity, how she discussed her continued love, it provided healing to the audience. As they were sitting they heard the audience commenting during and after, it touched a lot of people. Those who hurt for lack of love in their youth it helps to see it in the world.

Would like the minimum plus extra, Sacral wants us to go above and beyond.

Needs to get with Secretary about attendance to have talks with members to see where they are with things to help get them back in good standing. Needs to get with mentors/moms to work on board position execution. No other updates.

Research on name tags, discussion on link for slack with tag with printable insert, very flexible with changes and a lot cheaper.

Cersei mentions it’s the same company, and intends to send the link out in slack.

Safety: Spikes has a friend who is working on a protest safety handbook, will give SCS free copies, it’s going to the Johnson Library (queer and boot black), lots of new red flags and the changing protest landscape, best to stay abreast of new language and laws. Malarkey and Cercei express real interest in participating in this particular committee.

Jan 10th there will be a workshop for mission houses and new missions, in addition to nonviolent communications.

Abbess would like to do some things in person in the upcoming months.

P&P discussions need to happen, it’s holding us back as a house.

Getting a draft together to be finalized is necessary for elevation. Needs to get done!

President and VP to get together about all the things.

Wants to sit down to talk about a tentative date for a retreat. Communication really has 

Improved. Discusses moving forward 2026.

Fundraising needs to be scheduled. 

Mentions getting dates need to be more firm, it’s hard to do, can’t make everyone happy there.

Ian mentions January is a good month for as much.

Sister Tina discusses friendsgiving with VWoL, Sunny was patched

Organization started in 2017

Women and nonbinary org, volunteer work, they’re aiming to get a patch on the leather quilt

Needs two letters of recommendation, Tina requests the house to issue one signed by the board.

2005 is the first year of the quilt, a virtual has over 300 patches not sure about the actual quilt.

Tina is very familiar with the club’s core members for decades now since before they started in

The Hershe.

Ian mentioned the importance of stating association with SPI for clarity.

Folks rave on the letter. Malarkey offers to bugs bunny it in scroll form and read it in 

Clown face.

Discussion on how it would be sent, mailed or emailed or however and what type of document

for it to be material wise. Discussion that this could be something done in presentation.

Tina mentioned our house inclusion on the quilt.
