Started the meeting off with good news, healthy policy changes for the state of Virginia. Touched on how concerning things are in Minnesota.

Remarked on old memories, seeing pictures pop up on their timeline, Traci and Abbess exchange recollections of individuals present, other houses.

Not much otherwise to report.

After the holidays and individual stressors, it’s fair for us to rest in January.

Remarks on how the past, holidays, can drudge up bad memories and remember to reach out and support one another, reach out if you need to.

Touched on events impending on the Life Center Calendar, expresses interest in making appearances. Keep up the good work, working on our elevation.
Congratulates Tracie on becoming our new Co-Mom, and thanks Kim for staying on as our Mentor, thanking them for being guides and there for the house.

Props to Kim’s state. Abbess remarks as to the strength of the people there.

Mistress of Novices (Vice President):

VD night Puppy Love event, Leather and Pups one Nighthawk night. Guard Ian lends details and also encourages attendance, though they and Sister Cain can’t make it due to being out of town.

Board Member at Large:**

Nothing to report. Mentions everyone getting through the holidays, it’s been quiet, give grace to yourselves and each other.

Committee Reports: (5 minutes per committee)

Attire: Coronet touched on in Co-Mom report.

Abbess inquires about nametags, Cersei states they have yet to purchase them, was waiting on details. Discussion and verification of previous minutes detailing passed decision in January meeting, which design is conveyed and members chats about getting them ordered. Treasurer reminds the funds were already voted, and everything is ready to go with a quote.

P&Ps: Abbess brings up previous documents, Elevation and Transfer, inquiring of status of approval. Secretary answers both motions/documents passed. Discussion on other sections needing to be ironed out. Discussion about getting those documents to approvable drafts needs to become a priority. Secretary intends to handle edits of previous drafts and amendments, send them up for read and approval by the house in short order, does ask for assistance from anyone with a knack for editing, and will have a list for items to be hammered out. Asks Abbess about meeting with Cecelia for purposes of a particular section of the drafts. Discussion on how to make that happen.
Safety:

Co-Mom/Mentor Updates

Keep up the good work, closer to the finish line than the house realizes.

Abbess brings up their design of the coronet, and wants to work on it a little more to iron out details and finishing touches/details.

Kim suggests keeping it simple, easy to reproduce, and practical enough to wear.

Nora, the coronet whisperer, offers a portfolio of work and skills to assist if handed a design.

Abbess is appreciative. Discussion regarding concepts and comfortability.

Nora offers to provide recommendations with discussion.

There’s talk about particular designs, state signs and toilet seats.

Lots of laughter.

Nora expresses pride in all of us, talks about seasons changing and renewal, focusing on the mission. Grace given about all of the individual house member struggles, notes a lot has been going on.

Old Business

Discussion of our elevation checklist before submitting application. Discussion on going over all the details and requirements, and hammer down those P&Ps. Talk about the remaining needs moving forward.

Bios was addressed, Guard Ian says they’ll guess whatever if members don’t submit as a playful but sincere warning.

Nora mentions all the needs are not just the checklist, it’s emotionally ready, happy to hear members are coming back out after struggles, ‘Feel like a house, operate by a house’, they’re proud of us and know we’ll get there.

Malarkey mentions it feels like a last push, like the house is so close. Nora offers how common it is to have ‘push’ jitters and excitement.

Nora offers ‘Senior-itis’ as a vibe.

All sorts of jokes about ‘edging’ in relation to progressing in processes.

End Old Business

New Business

Tina brings up PDOR on March 31st, will bring time and location once they’re confirmed.

Should have a meeting in about a week, they’ll keep us informed.

Malarkey announces they will be moving just before summer. There’s an intention to get a lot of work done before that happens. It’s emotional but they’re excited about a new chapter. They don’t want to leave the house. Missionary status is mentioned, as the possibility of remotely holding their current position insofar as they meet requirements of membership.

Abbess expresses they regard Malarkey will always be a part of the house, that they’ve been a supportive, mediating member, referred to him as Switzerland, tries to see multiple angles of a story. Got in Malark’s feels. Consider’s Malarkey a founding member of the house, and will be there for him.

Sister Mary brings up their upcoming move with their partner. Offers their home and amenities. Expresses Malarkey has been there for them, and gratitude, it is returned in kind.

Sister Nora speaks to transfers in and out, P&Ps should detail this and other statuses, mentions meritas for someone moving to another state, in order to keep them as a participating member until they establish a new residency. Details letters of recommendation on transfers, and prior status, and it should come from MoNs. Personal note, offers a proud recommendation to the Boston house, and offers to be a source for any questions.

Upcoming Events (Limit to 5 minutes per event)

Nighthawks and PAH will be combining for Valentines: Puppy Love

Every First Saturday of the Month- PAFU at Rainbow Cactus

Every Second Saturday of the Month- Night Hawks at MJs

Every Third Saturday of the Month- Bears at MJs

Every Fourth Saturday of the Month- Pets and Handlers at Rainbow Cactus

Open Discussion: (Limit to 15 minutes)

Guard Ian states for record that the UNPC ‘s annual election meeting happened last month and that the Secretary from the Indianapolis house is retiring from their position, shared her operations and has taken on Ian as a trainee. Abbess says they love to hear it, reminds him of the support from the house is always available to him, we all want to see him succeed.

To touch on previous mentionings regarding statuses in new business Sacral points out Missionary status. Ofc jokes will ensue. Abbess considers that role more reserved, asks for Nora’s perspective, and Nora says that a novice used that status while there was a functioning house near to them at their new location. Nora finds it perfectly acceptable as Malarkey settles in their area to remain an active member of SCS, referencing a president set by the San Francisco house. Later they can complete their transfer. Multiple voices confer and agree. Abbess and Traci vibe about Hootenanny.
Nora reminds don’t fuck with; the money, another sister, or the community, sacred 3 rules, everything else in the P&Ps can bend to what makes the house work. Use the Missionary Position (instantly playfully regrets, jokes) if that works for  the member and the house.

What is the harm to the house, if none, making things work is fine, and don’t lock yourself in missionary position only because “we want you much more creative than that. Thank you.”

Malarkey asks if they could still serve the progress of the house if in Missionary Postion, Nora reminds of the existence of remote work, and you could manifest with Boston and get to know them while still a member of SCS. Abbess can suggest Malarkey can spy (in the most positive way) regarding conflict resolutions or projects, we stand to learn a lot with a human bridge.

Abbess suggests we use Open Discussion and New Business as one vehicle.

Wonders if renaming it would work. Guard Ian offers insights on RRoO, that we can combine but keep separate, Malarkey suggests using “agenda items” as new business, then open discussion in the language.

Malarkey mentions whether or not elevation can be revisited, possibly opened, brought up by Sister Mary who’s making the request for consideration. MoN expresses they’re ok with opening up elevations. Speaks with regards to eligibility, to be considered. Also says they were considering opening up membership, but thinks better until after P&Ps are done.

Abbess feels they’re (P&Ps) done enough to open up membership to their thinking.

MoN was just putting that out there. Restates reopening elevations, thinks we’re at a good spot.

Malarkey agrees with Sacral, and speaks to their impression of Mary, and bigly supports that, however is not a fan of opening membership just yet. Speaks to the state of the world, and feels we aren’t active enough yet to bring more on board.

Abbess motions to open elevations, case by case, pending House consideration.

Guard Ian asks if we’re in closed session, and suggests this should be a convo for closed session. Moving to executive session.

Executive Session: (Limit to 10 minutes)

Postulants, Aspirants, and Guest will be excused from the meeting for private discussion by Novices and FPM, details noted for House reference only

Abbess opens session with prior motion, to open elevations on a firm case by case basis.

Sacral Seconds as they are case by case by nature but it’s important to say

None opposed

None abstained

Motion passes

Nora encourages opening for discussion after reading the motion again in full as per RRoO.

There’s general discussion about the ass dragging in government and how Malarkey has a soul and might not be a good fit for politics for that reason.

Nora suggests opening up membership might be a good thing for the house where we are at, for fresh blood, and also about bending rules, most importantly an example where you don’t bend the rules. Say you have someone transferring from another city without a letter of recommendation, Nora firmly suggests that shouldn’t be a rule bent on. Guard who you let into the house, bend rules when it works and there’s no risk. Adhere strictly when there is possible risk.

Malarkey feels like the family needs more bonding, and feels the process of coming on board should be a slow vetting, mentions how the updated draft of P&Ps do reflect that. Something he really supports. Reaffirms a feeling of needing solid what if policies in the P&Ps and guard against bad actors.

Momma Nora concurs, but expresses the notion of minimums is a flexible position, and how it’s all up to the house, and refrain from passing with votes until someone is ready.

They insist on the use of the word: minimums

Abbess mentions the current timeframes as per the P&P draft, citing a year and three months until FPS at minimum, and feels this time is sufficient, Nora touches again on the language; using minimum.

Abbess expresses gratitude for the opinions expressed, and concurs, feeling member’s hearts are in the right place.

Asks the meeting if it’s on the table, do they want to discuss opening membership.

MoN expresses they see both sides, and could agree eitherway, so will lean with the board vote. Shares Malarkey’s concerns, and Nora’s points.
Abbess reaffirms the language of case by case basis.MoN agrees with the idea that folks can lean to nice votes, instead of kind, and agrees we should speak our conscious into our votes.
Nora asks to note that this time last year if there was opposition in a vote there would be a meltdown of process, and remarks to how far the house has come since then, commending members. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

Abbess points out the vote requirements and does the MATHS. Saying they put in safeguards to avoid coercion. Malarkey stresses if we open membership, speak up and appreciate your obligation to the house to speak your vote. We need information, and perspective, and please be careful.

Guard Ian motions to open up membership, with the provisions we have in the elevation documents

Abbess reads the motion to open membership according to the new elevation guidelines.

Asks for discussion.

Members discuss

Brother Canteer expresses previous hesitancy but is open to it

Cersei seconds

Guard Ian offers the language; case by case.

MoN reiterates membership is not solely predicated on interest, case by case for certain.

Malarkey offers they could be swayed on vote if it’s amended this motion that we not advertise our open membership as recruitment.

Abbess mentions the requirement for two sponsors for aspirancy, and assigned Big Siblings.

Big Siblings serve the purpose of not only fostering aspirants but also to weigh and observe prospective members.

Nora mentions Aspirancy and Postulancy are the vetting period. Reminds they are provisional members and encourages that language in the P&Ps, that they can be removed simply with a majority vote. After Novice, excommunication is a deeper process required for removal from the house.

Abbess reminds and reads the vote: To open membership, case by case, without advertising it as open recruitment

No discussion

No nays

No abstains

Motion passes.

Members discuss how well this process went, and the gains in the house, echoing Momma Nora’s words previous.

Abbess reiterates the above discussion, gives a summary;

Open membership, soft opening not openly advertise, but if CM expresses interest they will be welcomed pending the current vetting process, with two sponsors, assigned two mentors (BS),

With minimum timeframes, considered case by case, BS will weigh in with feedback/sponsors.

Yup, recorded, almost verbatim (lol)

(Abbess’ phone “yeets itself” off of his steering wheel)
(Abbess goes into graceful exclamations)

(Malarkey cackles)

(Abbess asks that dropping their phone be omitted from the minutes)

(Abbess pulls rank, tries to make executive order)

(Guard Ian encourages the comical dropping of the phone and abbess’ graceful sputtering be put into the minutes, speaks to hubris -nails emoji-)

(Malarkey enters into Minutes. -snaps-)

Guard Ian brings up that Jorge Lacott has been very present in our meetings, is suggesting they might be a good consideration for aspirancy, leaves it to MoN to consider reaching out, wants their thoughts. Abbess expresses interest in starting them off as a postulant.

MoN speaks to CM showing interest, encourage them to come to meetings, that’s a great first step. Great filtering process, encourage them to interact with us when they see us Manifesting, that way we don’t have to advertise anything, potentials will show us what they’re about. Has zero issue with speaking to Jorge about being a Postulant. Recalls a discussion from when membership was closed that, case by case, we may consider someone for the house if they are a good fit.

Traci hit the wrong button.

Malarkey hit the wrong button too, but does have something to say. Not to nay say, but there are members in arrested development that we are considering elevating at their request, reminds to be kind and fair, not nice. Is concerned about how pushing a potential who hasn’t asked to join past aspirancy might impact those members. Not saying he’s generally opposed, and not opposed to counting their previous visits count for their elevation, but is really hesitant to do so at this time.

MoN brings up the point that we don’t currently have any aspirants, the last one decided now wasn’t a good time with their schedule, life stuff.

Discussion about making exceptions and counting minimums, needs to be revisited, just to check the boxes. MoN will seek out Jorge and see how they feel about aspirancy or friendship with the sisters, to get a read. Willa will remain a friend of the sisters for now.

Abbess suggest we go over and do check ins, tag team, see what tracks everyone is on and where they are at in their journeys, and how they want to proceed before we make any rash decisions. Come together, write up some ideas, likes Nora’s idea.

Would like to utilize a family meeting to help with circumstance. Work on some FP vows, and other details.
